Absolutely do it! Fabulous experience - we spotted a sign advertising the lecture near Selfoss and were so glad that we looked into it! The location is brilliantly sneaky in the heart of the city and we learned a lot about a fascinating subject - absolutely will recommend!
Great entertainment for an evening while in Reykjavík! Sir William Stephenson avoided the spot light like a true spy. The curators definitely did their homework when compiling material. The presentation makes it easy to follow along, and understand the otherwise complex and remarkable story of the real life 007. The cellar and the staff make you feel like you are in a real world spy briefing during the middle 20th century. Very cool!
License to Thrill! Our group of 10 adults had a marvelous time at this lecture. The setting itself is ingenious and lends itself to the "cloak and dagger" experience. You get a sense of the incredible amount of research, time and effort put into creating the space and show. Our leader David has a wonderful presentation style, and the audio visuals help clarify what could be a complicated story. I happen to be involved in The Intrepid Society based in the city where Sir William Stephenson was born, and my grandmother's aunt and uncle raised him, so she considered him her first cousin. You will hear incredible things in the lecture, and based on what we at The Intrepid Society have learned, and the family lore shared about this fascinating man, I couldn’t find anything notable to dispute among the many stories presented even though they seem too fantastic to be true. If you have any interest in WWII, Ian Fleming's James Bond 007, or the beginnings of the CIA, you shouldn't miss this show. Even those with a slight interest in the topic will be entertained. We are already talking about when we will be able to experience the escape room on our next trip.
007 Great piece of cultural history that will be fun and interesting aæto watch for any double 0 enthusiast.Setting and location where the actual ppl involved were located.
For all those interested in history, spies, James Bond, and WW2 It was an AWESOME experience with my friends. I was so glad we went during our trip. You won't regret it! The talk is a very cool dive into real people from WW2, how they all interconnect, and it's impact on making the James Bond we know today. They are also working on making an escape room that will let you use your new found knowledge, which will create a fun experience for all ages, esp if you like to learn by doing haha! We hope to come back when that's made to try it ourselves!!
A different and highly recommended experience in the heart of Reykjavik Very interesting, educating and entertaining. If you are interested in James Bond, WWII, espionage, history or the connection between these subjects, don’t miss this brilliant show.
Nice story in a nice cellar Really interesting story of an interesting man of icelandic origin. Nice and homey cellar and warm and welcoming staff.
Interesting and very well investigated! Absolutely brilliant! Very interesting and the flow of the show kept me focused and i was amazed by the amount of information they have gathered!Recommend!!
A big story told in a tiny room Fascinating story of a real life man of misery. A case of not only being in the right place at the right time, but knowing the right people too. And this show spins a web worthy of Ian Fleming himself.
Fun spy hideout Really interesting to learn about Sir William Stephenson's life and connections to the world of spies. A fascinating story told in great surroundings, very clandestine and spy-like! Looking forward to testing the escape room when it opens.
